| Special features of the writing section |
|
- Typing proficiency is essential.
- Two questions are consisting of one integrated writing and one independent writing task.
- Integrated writing is writing about the facts in the reading and listening script.
- Independent writing is based on one of the 185 essay topics.
- After the lecture in the listening passage, the reading passage is shown at the left of the screen for reference.

| Question types in the writing section |

| A) Integrated Writing |
Read a script about an academic topic, listen to a lecture about the same topic, and then write about the topic for 20 minutes.
The time given to read and listen to the lecture is 5 minutes.
Preferred length is 150-225 words. Personal opinions must not be included.
*혻You cannot read the script when listening to the lecture, but you can read the script again after the lecture is over.

| (B) Independent Writing |
You must write an essay which consists at least 300 words.
Question types are: description; explanation; pros and cons; compare and contrast; and reason and result.
Thirty minutes are given to prepare, write, and proofread.
